The World Renewable Energy Congress (15th WREC) will take place at the Jakarta International Convention Center in Indonesia on 19-23 September this year alongside the Indonesia Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Summit 2016.
During the five-day 15th WREC, several industry concerns and updates will be discuss, including the future of clean energy development in the world.
According to organizers, the international renewable energy congress will host various plenary sessions, technical sessions, and several investment forum that will discuss various topics covering the sector of renewable energy.
This year’s World Renewable Energy Congress in Jakarta, which carries the theme “Sustainable Energy for All and All for Sustainable Energy”, forms part of Indonesia’s efforts in supporting the development of new and renewable energy as well as energy conservation, according to Sudirman Said, Indonesia’s minister of energy and mineral resources.
Said expressed hope that 15th WREC will produce new or improved thoughts and breakthrough in the global efforts to promote new and renewable energy.
World Renewable Energy Congress to Gather Participants from 68 Countries
The joint World Renewable Energy Congress and the Indonesia Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Summit is expected to attract some 1,000 participants coming from 68 countries around the world.
The WREC is organized by the World Renewable Energy Network, a major non-profit, UNESCO-affiliated organization registered in the United Kingdom.
According to the WREN, the main purpose of the 15th WREC in Indonesia is to facilitate the exchange of the latest knowledge among experts in the renewable energy. It also aims to promote a wide range of renewable energy investment and policies, among others.

Event exhibitors will have to chance to position their companies as major players in the renewable industry, according to exhibitors.
The event also provides new business opportunities fo multinational firms to establish partnerships with local partners or promote businesses by presenting current technology and projects.
Key speakers of this year’s WREC include Prof. Ali Sayigh of WREN, Rainer Hinrich Rahlwes of the European Renewable Energies Federation, John Boland of the University of South Australia, Dr Jazaer Dawody of Volvo Technology Corporation, among others. – EventsNewsAsia.com
