About USD160 million worth of orders and USD350 million in deals were booked during the three-day 16th International Textile Asia Exhibition in Pakistan, organizers said.
Over 100,000 people also visited the three-day exhibition organized by PRGMEA and Ecommerce Gateway at the Karachi Exop Centre & Lahore Expo Center.
Aside from exhibiting the latest textile machinery and equipments, Textile Asia also featured B2B meetings, industry related presentations, and seminars that tackle the textile sector.
This year’s three-day event was attended mostly by Chinese firm, according to PRGMEA chief coordinator Ijaz Khokhar. For next year, however, the fair will focus on European companies, he said.
The 16th installment of the International Textile Asia Exhibition also gathered exhibitors from France, Germany, Australia, China, Czech Republic, United States, United Kingdom, Italy, Turkey, Taiwan, Korea, and India.
Textile Asia Features Punjab’s Best
Textile Asia features the best of the industry and allowed local textile industry players to interact and do business with their foreign counterparts.
The organizers said the three-day event resulted to USD160 million worth of orders, although there were no details about who booked the biggest orders and which country the orders will be sent to.
The statement from organizers also said that USD350 million deals were sealed during the event. Details of the said deals were also not disclosed as of yet.
The three-day exhibition was aimed at focusing on the potential of Punjab’s textile and garment machinery. About 80 percent of Pakistan’s textile industry is located in Punjab.
Aside showcasing the textile and garment machinery, the exhibition also featured Punjab’s accessories, raw material supplies, allied services, and chemicals under one roof. – EventsNewsAsia.com
